This week

This has actually been a pretty decent week.  Going super fast, not too stressful, just what I like!  I've been off a day all week, but off the wrong way, like thinking today was Wed when it was really Thurs.  I guess my vacation actually helped this time!!!  We loved it so much, I'm already looking up rates for a winter get away.  Yes, winter and the beach, they don't exactly go together - but ooohhh, it would be so nice and relaxing, and the averages in Florida are still in the 70's in the winter, so it wouldn't be bad!!!

I think my garden has just about died.  I didn't get anyone to water it while we were away on vacation...so some stuff got really scorched.  I am still getting cucumbers, watermelons, and tomatoes.  The tomatoes are actually just now getting ripe, so i'm hoping to get a few weeks of those.  i'm tired of cucumbers, especially since i grew the wrong kind and can't can them to make pickles.  Grrrr.  I also let it get away from me with the weeds - i did really good until about mid-june when we had vbs - then i could never catch up, right now it is more weeds than plants.  And the bugs, oh my, bugs are everywhere.  i didn't use any pesticides - but i'm going to rethink that next year.  over half of the stuff that is left has been eaten on by many many bugs.  Truth be told, i'll probably get another week or two of tomatoes, and hopefully a few watermelon, and then i'll give Eric the go ahead to just mow it over.

Peyton has broken 2 DVD's this week trying to get them out of the case - I have been telling him over and over that only Mom or Dad can get those movies out.  Today he was upset when I got mad and he went in timeout b/c he broke his brand new Thomas that we just got for the vacation...

Eric's job might end tomorrow.  I'm not sure.  All the houses are finished - but he hasn't been told that he won't have a job - but he was hired as a Temp.  I guess we will just wait and see.  They are keeping a few of them, but Eric was one of the last hired on - so my bet is that he might not be the one.  His school starts in Sept, so he is getting excited about that.  Also, he has worked long enough to re-qualify for unemployment again (i think anyway).

I'm back on the weight loss band wagon.  I had lost 7 lbs before the 4th of July and our vacation.  How can it take me 2-3 months to lose it, and one week and one weekend to gain it all back??????  I'm down 2 from last Saturday though, I'm really trying to stay motivated (again) - maybe i can do it this time.  I feel like something is different and that this time i'm really going to do it (nothing like going to the beach to re-motivate you)...but we will see.

How does your garden grow???

Week 0 - this was the day I planted everything - I think anyway...

Week 2 -

Week 3

It is amazing how fast my garden is growing - each day it seems that the plants are getting bigger and bigger (and the weeds too).  I'm out in the yard almost every night after dinner - and we still can't keep up with all the weeds...

I sure hope about this time next month - that i have lots and lots of fresh veggies...

I'm a gardener

I can not believe how fast my garden is growing.  Peyton and I are out working in the garden almost every night after dinner - so not only will I hopefully have lots and lots of great fruits/vegetables to eat soon, we are also getting lots of exercise.  Then of course, bath is immediately following - as we both get quite hot and dirty.  Peyton is so cute saying 'Mommy's Garden' and 'wateeemeon' (watermelon) and 'vegabuls' (vegetables).

Man, I hope this weekend hurry up and gets here - because it is a 3 day weekend...

I'm thinking about going leading a Beth Moore bible study at church - trying to see how many people are interested.  The one I'm currently taking is almost over - and I really want to take the next one, but they are only offering it during the AM SS time, and I really want to get back to my Adult SS class.  So, I decided to try to see who all is interested and lead it myself or with someone else.

And on a completely other topic - Eric's unemployment ran out last week, so we have had to majorly adjust the budget, and starting next week he will be keeping Peyton at home to save on Daycare costs.  I'm going to try to create a schedule of stuff for them to do, and find some fun stuff online as well.  I know he is probably going to have a rough time - as I know I would if it were me...at least at first.  We are praying for a job to come open soon - but if not, Peyton will still be going to preschool at a local church starting in the fall - so at least he will get some breaks.
