Confession

Of course, I honestly DO NOT CARE about having Heather pg with me at the same time. I don't care that my baby will not be the 'baby' of the family for very long. Honestly, I'm so beyond excited that I wouldn't care if every woman in the whole family was PG.

What I do care about now is very selfish. Very! I know that now Heather is going to be getting all the hand-me-downs from both Eric's brother and sister, instead of us. Emily has girls, so I couldn't get the clothes, but she has talked about giving us so much stuff...stuff that I now know will probably go to Heather.

How selfish is that?

I know that they will really need it more than me. I know that they do not have money to buy things like we will, but honestly we don't have all that much *extra* money either. I think that it is great for all first time parents to have at least some good hand-me-downs. I guess I'll just wait and see how all this plays out.

My SIL is pregnant

Eric's little sister, Heather, is pregnant with her 2nd baby. She is happy so I'm trying to be excited for her. It is just that she really hasn't done that great of a job with Landon. He will be 8 by the time the new baby gets here.

When I say that she hasn't done such a great job, I say that because she isn't really raising her son. Yes, she does wash is clothes and put him to bed each night, etc...but he practically lives with Eric's parents. He is there every night from the time he gets home until around 8, and he is always there on the weekends. Technically it is like she is living the *no children* during most of her free time.

And her husband is a complete sorry ass. Half the time he doesn't keep a job. He never comes to any of the family stuff, mainly because no one likes him, which is all his own fault.

I'm trying to be happy for Heather b/c she is so happy, but at the same time I'm wondering how this is all going to work out. They are so poor that they have to get help from Eric's parents all the time. Oh, and they are the ones that just bought my Mustang. The main reason we sold the mustang was because it was NOT a car that was suitable for a baby. They really need to sell it and buy a mini-van or something like that. Of course, they can't really afford much, which is why they bought the Mustang in the first place.

I'm just worried about the little baby coming. I know that it will have food and stuff because they qualify for WIC. I wonder how responsible they are going to be and if they will be raising the baby and not the grandparents. Eric's parents need to make it CLEAR now that they will NOT be keeping the baby all the time.

Oh, and that is another thing. Only Eric and his mom know. She hasn't told anyone else, including her son. She doesn't want to hear what people have to say about it, because not everyone is going to be too happy. And I have NO ONE to talk to about it b/c no one knows. So, I better keep my mouth shut. ;)

My home computer DIED!

My dear, sweet, darling computer finally croaked on Sunday night. I was trying to install my All-in-one printer so I could print some pictures and maybe, just maybe get a scrapbook page done. Well, the install was taking forever, and after it finally finished, my computer died. It would NOT cut on. And somehow, I was an erie calm. I do have all my pictures backed up, but besides that, I would have lost everything.

But, my brother-in-law, Rob, is a computer genius. He knows how to build them, and fix them. I just know how to use them. I knew that I could take out the hard drive and get data off of it, and then just wipe the computer clean, but actually doing this myself - NO WAY! Rob did this all for me, and then upgraded my computer to XP! All I can say is WOW! I feel like I have a new computer. I'm going to buy some more memory and then it will REALLY be like a new computer. It is almost a blessing that this happened. I was so seriously considering buying a new computer, and this 'accident' has saved us close to $1000.00.

My sister and college...

She is finally registered at the local college, Macon State. I had to go with her yesterday just to hold her hand through the whole thing. She is so clueless when it comes to this college stuff. I had to help her fill out ALL her paperwork for admissions, financial aid, etc. And luckily all of her financial aid came through, and she qualified for PELL, which is pretty much like getting FREE money from the government. I hope she uses it wisely. I told her she needed to go and pay down the dentist, since she has quite a large bill since she got home from prison. Her teeth looked HORRIBLE!

So, she finally got everything straightened out yesterday. They really help the students out alot, unlike it was a Georgia Tech. Luckily I was always very computer savy, so I had no trouble doing everything that I needed to do straight from my computer. My sister doesn't even have a computer, or know how to type. She pecks. Which is okay, because she will get better. My old boss was a 'pecker' and he could type almost as fast as I can...

Eric and I got in an arguement about me going to the school with Stacey. Yes, I do complain about doing these types of things for her, managing her money (because I didn't want to just give it over to her), and things like that. Well, he says that either I need to stop doing it or stop complaining. Her money has just about ran out, so that will be over soon, and hopefully she will get the hang of the 'real' world so that she doesn't have to get my help or mom's help on EVERYTHING. I mean, she calls me and asks me to call the dentist for her...since she 'doesn't know what to say'. Please.

And prison really hurt her 'time management skills'. she got so used to everyone telling you what to do and when, and they made no decisions for themselves, that it took her awhile to just organize a day properly. But she is always late. Still. This is one thing that BURNS me up. Like yesterday, I left work to meet her for registration. She was close to 15 minutes late, while I just sit there, missing work, waiting. That is what burns me up so bad. When I was complaining to Eric about her being late was when he got mad. He just wants to protect me I guess. I mean, during the 2 years she was in prison, I went to see her at least every other weekend, and the place was FAR away...like an hour and a half. Now that she is home, we have gotten together like ONCE. The time when I'm available (weekends) is when she doesn't have the boys and wants to hang out with her friends. These friends aren't the ones that she got into trouble with, but they are still that 'crowd'. Most of these friends have been like Stacey, gotten into trouble, and then went away for awhile, and then straightened out and gotten 'real' jobs.

Here is an old LiveJournal post about my sister, http://rockslady7.livejournal.com/61559.html and this is the link to my old journal: http://rockslady7.livejournal.com

Abortion...

I know I could be opening a GUMBO can of worms here, but this is an issue that I have always been against. I really don't think that some people really understand how much this happens. And now that I'm pregnant, and I have seen my baby on the ultrasounds, and love it SOOO much, I don't see how on earth people could kill an baby.

Maybe I know these issues a little more than the 'average' person because of how much I have seen through my sister and her friends. Some of her friends have had MULTIPLE abortions. Now, after one time, it seems like you have LEARNED your lesson. You should do SOMETHING to prevent it next time. And they don't. I mean, technically they wouldn't have had to have so many abortions if they had the first baby because that means you can't get pg for 9-10 months. And then one person I know, had an abortion, then got pg two months later and decided to keep the baby. Yes, that is better, but couldn't you have had the FIRST one. Her parents begged her to have the first one, and she didn't. Now her parents are raising her two children.

I really hope that they pass the law where any girl/woman considering having an abortion must have an ultrasound first. I remember my first u/s at 10 weeks. You could already see a little body, and arm and leg 'nubs', you could see him moving already. I just want to cry thinking about it, thinking about someone killing a tiny little baby. Makes my heart ache...

I wish that all these women would just have their babies and give them up for adoption. I know that then they would have the guilt of giving up their child, but wouldn't they have guilt for having an abortion too. That I think is the problem. These women don't have any guilt because they don't give a damn. They don't care about anyone but themselves. Now, I am NOT talking about every case, some women are not like this, they did truly care...but from what I have seen, most are NOT like that.

I just really needed to get this off of my chest because yesterday I found out about another abortion...someone that I know had one. This has always bothered me, but I just hurt so hard when they told me. It is just so sad...and how can you tell a PREGNANT woman about an abortion. Please, that is information that I would rather not know...

Posts...

I've always been a very regular (I think anyway) poster. I had a Live Journal before I moved to blogspot for over a year or so. Well, no one ever read my posts before. I honestly didn't even quite grasp how BIG blogging was. Yes, I had one, but I did it just because I have always been a "journaler", and I mainly did it for me. And I do still do it for me, but for some reason I have stopped some of the 'deep' posts that I did, and I've also stopped talking about completely normal daily life. This is because people read my blog now! Which I LOVE! And I love reading other's blogs. I guess I'm saying this to let you know that I'm going to try and start blogging about all the mundane things again. WARNING: I might blog about what I ate for lunch or having a good hair day (because lets face it, most are BAD)...you can just skip that paragraph all together.

Now, for some of the 'deep' posts...I will try to do that. The thing is, honestly, I felt more comfortable blogging about some things and setting it to "private". Can you do that in blogger? In LJ you could, and that sometimes helped me post about some things that I really needed to get off my chest, but that I didn't want someone else reading them to get their feelings hurt (the people I know in real life). I know that I do have a few friends and my husband that read this occassionally...

Tired..

I've been so tired all day. I don't know why, unless I got to much sleep last night because I went to bed at 7:30. I was so tired I couldn't stay awake. Today hasn't been anything exciting. Just a normal day. Eric had a few fillings re-done last week, and one of them has really been hurting him. He had to go into the dentist today b/c his tooth was giving him a headache. They said hopefully it is just a sinus infection, but if not, he might have to get a root canal. OUCH! And insurance does not pay for root canals...

I also found a few local artists that do murals online. I really don't know how expensive they are, and if it is going to cost way too much, but we are going to call a few just to see. I'm pretty artistic, but not that much. I tried to do a few things last night on my sketchpad, and I really don't think that I could do it on the wall...I'm just not that good. It is alot harder to do it than you would think...

Half Way There!

20 Weeks Today! 20 Down, 20 To Go. I know that the second half is going to be a LOT harder than the first half, but at least I'm half way there now. I can't wait for all the stuff that is to come, like decorating the baby room, showers, and of course, meeting our little boy.

So far, these are the feelings I have felt throughout this stage in my pregnancy.
  • Maternity Clothes are expensive, and not easy to find locally
  • You can lose sleep before you are WAY pregnant
  • You have to start making frequent bathroom early into your pregnancy
  • That I cannot eat salsa ANYMORE!
  • My only craving has been for Burritos.
  • Feeling the baby move is the sweetest thing!
  • Picking out a baby name is NOT easy.
  • You have no energy for the first three months
  • Having Eric rub my belly and talk to the baby is adorable
  • You get alot of attention!

I'm the boss today...

Well, actually I was the boss yesterday too, and tomorrow. Too bad I can't fire someone. Muohaha (that was supposed to be a creepy laugh...) Anyway, that means that I get to go to meetings for my boss. Not really a big deal. Just one more thing to worry about during my day.

I also wanted to clarrify, my nephew has the CHICKEN POX, not the measles. I don't know why my Mom thought it was the measles, when the logical thought would have been Chicken Pox, but that women I will never fully understand. I went to lunch with her yesterday, and it was pretty nice. She locked herself off the base b/c she forgot her ID card in her computer. We now are required to log into our PC's with our ID card and password. So, it is very easy to leave the computer with the ID card in it, and then you can NOT return if you leave the base. I almost did it last Thursday, but realized it before I left the parking lot.

Thanks for all the comments about the nursery furniture. I like it more and more every time I see it. I think I'm going to do some shopping this weekend, or at least looking...and maybe I'll find something perfect. If we are going to do a 'football' themed room, I'm probably going to have to do alot of the work myself. I can do 'applique' (sp?) and sew, but I need to get started on some of the projects, and at least get a design in my head to know where to go from here. JCPenney's also has red or red gingham sheets like the pottery barn ones, so I can get them without breaking the bank.

I'm looking for a projector too. I don't know if I'm going to be able to find a muralist around here, so a projector would help me try out my skills with a 'template' to go by. I think that I can do SOME things pretty well, I'll just practice on some poster board first to see how good/bad I do, and then we can see if it is something that I can or can't do. And of course, I'm my WORST critic...

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to a meeting. ;)

FURNITURE!

This is a baby crib very similar to the one that we got....

And this is the hutch...

We got both over the weekend, and paid $400 for both. I LOVE the hutch, and the crib is okay. Probably not what I would have picked out, but I think it will work just fine. I did want black or wood tone, but white is very nice too. I found that the hutch is a Bassett Furniture piece, and that we have quite a few stores in GA that sell Bassett furniture. I would like to buy the 'hutch' piece that goes on top of the changing table. It looks very nice. And the bed isn't a convertible bed, but that is okay, because we will use if again for our future kids.

Measles

My poor nephew Dilyn has the measles. I didn't even realize this was something that kids today get. He has had his immunizations, so I'm not sure how he caught it. At least school is almost over because he would have missed alot of days, because it usually takes 2 weeks to completely go away. Poor little guy. He WAS going to come spend the night on Saturday, but not now, and thank God he couldn't come to church with me on Wednesday, because I would have been exposed to him. My immune system should protect the baby, but you can never be too careful. I guess it will be a few weeks before I get to see him again.

Baby Furniture...

I found a great deal on some Pottery Barn furniture on Ebay. It is located in North Georgia, about 3 hours away. 2 pieces, never used but not in box (probably returns), for $699. The baby bed in the current magazine is $699 alone, not including shipping. But, the changing table/dresser is also include which is $550 in the magazine. So, it would almost be like getting one free. However $700 still seems like too much money. And the color is 'natural' wood, so it is very light. Not the color that I would have picked out, but it is nice. I'm going to think about it, and see what we decide to do. It would be a VERY LONG drive to go get the furniture, but it could be worth it. URGH. Why can't great deals like this pop up in good ole Warner Robins???

Registered!

I registered for the child birthing classes today. Kelly has started taking hers, so I though, man - I better call. It is going to be $125, and insurance doesn't cover it. I'm hoping that it will be worth it...but I think it will calm my nerves so maybe I will feel better about giving birth. They are from 7-9 on Tuesdays for 5 weeks. I'm going to have to miss the first one, so I hope that will be okay. Well, one more thing accomplished. ;)

Christmas...

Yes, I am already thinking about Christmas. I was in the bathroom, doing my 'business', which seems to take a LOT longer now that I'm pg that it EVER did before. I've even started bringing magazines into the bathroom with me now (at home). Okay, enough of the TMI.

I was thinking about the rest of the year, and how different Thanksgiving, Christmas and my birthday (Nov. 10th) is going to be this year. We will be parents! I will be a mommy! Then, I thought, we will get to get stuff for the baby for Christmas too, so I can ask my Mom and Eric's mom for stuff that we didn't get for the baby from the showers that we still need. Especially stuff that isn't really needed until the baby is a few months old.

Then it hit me. Christmas. When am I going to get my shopping done. I surely am NOT going to wait until after the baby comes, that is just too much pressure. Also, Eric will be taking a few weeks off work, unpaid, in October, so we might have a month or two of a very tight budget because of that. I however can't wait for us to spend 2-3 weeks home with the baby bonding. I think that is VERY important, and I want him to be there to experience it with me, and to HELP me!

We probably won't get to go to Eric's grandpa's for Thanksgiving this year, he will barely be 6 weeks, so I don't know I will be ready for a road trip yet. Christmas will probably be the first road trip...I'll just wait and see. I'm actually relieve to not have to worry about Thanksgiving. We always run all over the place, and try to make it to 4 dinners in two days. Just TOO much. Every year I'm pooped after Thanksgiving and Christmas b/c of all the places that we go. This year, I'll use the baby as an excuse to skip out on a few...and I'll be pooped already from the baby, so it might be best anyway.

My Pants Fit!

My maternity capri jeans! They finally fit. I thought I was going to have to wear that 'band' with them just to hold them up, but my belly has gotten big enough to hold them up now. ;) I tried to take my 19week belly shot on Monday, but the camera batteries were DEAD, so I really need to get that picture taken because I seem to be growing lately! Oh, and Eric has felt the baby the last two nights in a row - barely, but he did feel a little something. ;)

Nesting Already??

I have this constant urge to get stuff done in my house. It could be that we moved in only a few months ago, and that we still have TONS of stuff not organized. Like my office/scrapbook area. Last night I finally unpacked all of my Scrapbook stuff (along with a few other boxes). The garage is still a complete disaster. I'm missing stuff b/c I haven't unpacked everything. No pictures are on the wall, and the painters still have to finish up some touchups. The laundry room is a complete mess, I need to buy a organizer and organize all the laundry and spend a whole day catching up with all the dirty clothes that we never wear. Better yet, why do we even have so many things that we honestly don't need.

The upstairs hasn't even been touched, except to move boxes into. We need to get the furniture from the baby's room up there, since we can't use it for a boy we are going to use it for the guest room. The beds haven't even been put up yet, and the room needs to be arranged. The bathroom up there hasn't been used yet, and has spider webs in the corners and tub. I need to get some basic stuff put up there, like towels and a shower curtain and bath mat. I know that we are going to be having company once our little guy arrives, so this is important.

Then we still have the issue of the baby's room. I feel like I'm going too slow with this. I remember my SIL and BIL had Michaela's room finished within DAYS of finding out that she was a girl. It has been two weeks, TODAY, and we have done NOTHING yet. I have googled and ebayed for a few items, but haven't bought anything or made any decisions. We really need to go to the babies-r-us in Morrow (near Atl) which is about 1.5 hours away and pick out some baby furniture to get for the room. That way we can save money on shipping, and get to see the crib/furniture in person to help make a decision.

I know this is a very rambling post...I still have a million things going through my mind, but I think what I really need to do is make a list (which I already have plenty of), but make a MUST do list, and then take out the calendar and schedule each major task for a weekend or however long I think it will take to do it. That will help us stay focused and get more stuff done, and it will help ME feel better. I even bought a dry erase board that has a calendar section on it, so I can put stuff down for the next month...Eric is really going to LOVE this. ;)

Old Wive's Tale

I was watching 'Midwifes' on Discovery channel last night. And during the show, they were measuring this one woman's belly, trying to figure out what size the baby was going to be. Then the midwife asked her what size shoe she wore...she said that typically the baby will be +/- 1 lb from the size of the woman's foot. Guess what size I wear...a 9 1/2. Oh Bother...

Weird

Just last night I was talking about how I should start keeping all of my To Do lists in some type of journal (I have them in my planner now, and all over the place too - notecards, envelopes, sticky notes) anyway, I often look back through them to see what all I have accomplished, what I never got around to, etc. So, I thought, I need to get yet ANOTHER notebook (I have a thing for notebooks too) so I can keep my lists in there. Then TODAY I see that Ali added this to her cafepress store. It is so perfect. Now, I just need to see which color I want, Red, Green, or Yellow. Decisions, Decisions!!!

Beautiful DAY!

Today is a beautiful day because I feel GREAT! Well, back to normal anyway. Yesterday I had to go home before lunch b/c I couldn't make it all day, but I feel so much better now.

The baby's movements are starting to get so strong now. I can feel him just about everytime I eat, and sometimes when I'm not eating. I think we are going to name him Peyton Maddux. That has been one of the names for a long time. I think Peyton is kind of common around here, and lately it has become a girl name too. It is such a hard decision. We also like Preston and Ty, but I've pretty much said no to Preston, and I'm having a hard time deciding between Ty and Peyton. I really like both. Hopefully we will just *know* if it is the right one.

I'm anxious to start working on the baby room, my pregnancy journal (which I should have already started), and the baby's first scrapbook. So many good papers out there to choose from. I bid on a 'Oh Boy' kit by Basic Grey. I've got so many ideas, I need to get them all on paper before I forget them...and of course I'll share whatever I come up with here...

Mother's Day

Eric was such a sweetie, and bought me a red rose corsage to wear to church yesterday. Of course, I didn't get to go b/c my head was hurting so bad. I know that I'm not *technically* a mother yet, but I'm alot closer than I was last year. I remember feeling down and wanting to cry during the service last year b/c we hadn't gotten pg yet. Who knew that it would take almost a year, and surgery to get pg. Looking back makes you see how far you have come, and how much stronger you are because of everything that you have been through (individually and as a couple). I wouldn't change anything, and I can't wait to become a Mother for REAL!

So Tired!

I wish I could just go home and crawl into bed and sleep all day. Last night (all day yesterday too), I had a horrible headache and didn't get out of bed much at all. But, I was still having trouble sleeping. Couldn't get out of bed without my head pounding. Well, my head is feeling better, hopefully it will stay that way, but I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to get through the day as sleepy as I am. I hope lunch helps perk me up so I can make it through the rest of my day. ;)

Worst Wife of the Year Award goes to:

ME!

Today is my darling husband's birthday. I had already made plans for lunch a few weeks ago, and I was so inconsiderate not to cancel them so I could go to lunch with him today. Well, I did cancel, about 30 minutes ago, so we can go together. I'm so sorry dear. Please find it in your heart to forgive me. I love you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY from US!!!

Corey got in another wreck...

My brother, Corey, is 16. Scary age - considering that he is driving, along with all of his friends. About two weeks ago, he was a passenger with his friend who got into a wreck. A 4 car wreck that was pretty bad. Corey has a bad back that he hurt playing football and had back surgery last year, well, his back has been hurting him alot since the last wreck.

Yesterday he was on his way HOME from getting an MRI to send up to Atlanta to his back surgeon to make sure everything was still okay, and that his back hasn't gotten hurt again. That is when he got into another wreck. This one was all his fault, he rear-ended a car pretty badly. Damn Cell Phones! He said he was reaching to get it, and the car made a quick turn (or tried to), and he hit them pretty hard. Car is totalled.

He was really upset, and crying really hard. He was strapped to one of those wooden back braces, and his neck was in a brace. They still hadn't gotten him out of the brace when I left the hospital two hours later. I can't believe how long it took to get someone into the computer or into the "system" so that they could do X-Rays and things like that. I'm actually pretty scared that if anything bad ever happened to us, we would surely die in our emergency room. Scary!

My car and work...

First off, we sold my Mustang to Eric's sister. I'm sad, but I will get over it. I really didn't want to sell it to someone that I knew, just because that means that I have to see it all the time. And I have babied this car so much, that I really don't want to see someone *rag* it out, or make it into a race car...and I know that they aren't going to take care of it like I did. Oh well, one day I will have an old fastback and I won't even think about this white convertible anymore.

And work. I have been offered a lateral job as head of bringing IT technologies to the base. This is not a promotion, but it is a job that would probably put me in line with experience needed for a promotion. I would, however, have to stop all programming and become a project manager. I would have to go on business trips and go to lots and lots of meetings, which I don't like too much...so I'm really talking myself out of it. I actually LIKE working on projects at the level that I am working now. I like still being able to design the solution and working with customers to provide them with what they need in a program. I like coding. I like the challenge. I don't like meetings and research, so I just don't know if I would be happy. I hate to change jobs now just because this MIGHT help me in the future...but it is a very *noticed* position...I guess I will have to do alot of thinking and praying to see what is right for me and our family.

Clothes Shopping

I struck out big time when I was in Orlando. None of the shops had plus sizes, so I kept trying on regular size XL and of course nothing fit. That is so depressing. I can wear tops that are XL, but I need bottoms much more than tops.

Oh, and I have been feeling the baby move so much in the past week. I've felt him at least once a day, if not more. So sweet. Wow!

Our Vacation

Our vacation was great. The resort was FABULOUS! Very nice. Huge pool with grill poolside, starbucks and pizza hut on the grounds, super nice rooms, game room, etc. The location was perfect, right beside the nice outlet mall that I wanted to go to and very close to Disney. I took lots of pictures, so I can upload them later. We went swimming everyday, and took a afternoon nap everyday too. Shopping was NOT as good as I expected, but Eric did surprise me by buying me a pair of shoes - which I love.

He went to the Nike Store without me, and we had already gone in once, but I'm so picky that I didn't find anything I wanted. Well, he decided that he was going to have to buy a pair himself or I would be wearing my old shoes forever. I've already started getting complements on them.

We went to Animal Kingdom on Monday and it was fun. Not quite as much fun as all the other times, but still fun. I didn't last very long before I was so tired I was miserable. We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe and then left around lunch. The animals are so gorgeous (most of them) and it is so neat how Disney can really make you feel like your in Africa.

We spent way too much on food while we were gone, and I think I gained about 5 lbs. Hopefully some of it will go away after a few days back here. We will see...

We're Back

The trip was so much fun, but of course, we spent a little more than we should have, and the trip didn't last as long as we would have liked. I'm back at work today. BooHoo, and Eric goes back tomorrow.

This blog is really going to be more of a *todo* list blog, and I'm going to list all the things that I need to blog about and use this as a guide to makesure I talk about them all.

1. The trip
2. Maternity shopping
3. Job opening at work
4. My car

Okay, those are the main things that I need to talk about...

More about yesterday...

I was so shocked that it was a boy. I still am a little. I must say, that all my life up until about a year or so ago, I always wanted boys. I didn't care if we had a girl or not. Probably because I was a semi-tomboy, but that all changed when Michaela was born. She is my cutie pie niece that is just gorgeous. Then her little sister, Summer, and my cousin's two girls Lauren and Emma. They are all so beautiful that it made me start wanting a little girl. And then the clothes are so cute, stuff for the room is so cute, so much prettier than boy stuff.

But, I'm estatic. I'm so excited that we have a very healthy little boy. The nurse calculated the due date according to his weight at this point, and it is still Oct 10th. He had the hiccups during part of the u/s, and you could also see him sucking his thumb. I'm so in awe of what my body is doing each day to create this perfect little boy.

If we would have had a girl, the furniture that we already have would have been perfect. It is a yellowish white wash with blue flowers painted on it. I got it at a yard sale about two years ago, and we have been using it in the guest room since. This furniture is NOT going to work for a little boy though. I think I want to do black furniture, maybe - I really like the way that it looks. I don't know if we will do a football theme or not. Eric loves Football, and so do I, but I'll just see how well I can put something together because I don't like any of the bedding sets that are out there, which would mean that I would have to make it myself. At least there is plenty of time...and I do have a bedding pattern. We will just have to wait and see.

Only a few days until we leave for Disney. We leave on Sunday, and I can't wait!!!

It's a BOY!

Definitely BOY!!! And he is growing perfectly! All 10 fingers and toes, you could see them. And I could see the 4 chambers of the heart, the brain, and Eric got to hear the heartbeat for the first time, and I have been able to feel the baby for the past two days now. Now we just have to come up with a name! Decisions, Decisions....

There is something in the AIR

"There is something in the air, There is something in the air" - this is what I was yelling in my sleep last night, which woke Eric up in a panic. I was talking in my sleep again. This is the third time this week that I have woke him up to me saying something odd, but just loud enough to make his heart race. Poor guy.

I was getting a headache, so I got up and went around and talked with a few of my friends, and it went away. I sit back down at my desk, and it starts hurting again almost immediately. Weird.

So, the u/s is in Macon. Which is about 30 minutes away. My favorite (not online) scrapbooking store, "Scrap, Paper, Sisters" is in Macon, right next door to my favorite restaurant (Olive Garden) so maybe just maybe we can go by tonight on the way home. Eric isn't very patient when it comes to shopping, so I might wait until I can go without him, but it would be neat to go and buy some stuff for the baby book...

Being productive...

I haven't updated about how productive I was on Saturday. Let's just say VERY! But, then Sunday was a total loss. I didn't even get dressed all day, and we had pizza delivered, so neither one of us even left the house. I read another book Saturday-Monday, so that probably has alot to do with me not being productive on Sunday.

Yesterday, I went to the doctor, then to Walmart, the unloaded all the groceries and cooked dinner, then instead of laying around and watching tv or reading, we went to Sears. We need a new battery for our lawnmower - so that we can cut the grass. We also got a blower so that we can try and keep our driveway clean...then we stopped for ICE CREAM at bruisters. The best ice cream in town. Yummy!

I saw my Grandma at Walmart. One of Ray's (her husband) sons took them to get groceries. It is so sad that they can't drive anymore. Mom and I also take her sometimes, but I don't see her enough. We used to do stuff together all the time, but over the last year or so I have switched jobs, built a house, etc and I'm not always there for her like I should be - especially now that she needs me more.

I sold $83 worth of clothes on Ebay. Of course, I paid for them recently too, so it isn't completely profit. I resold all of the maternity clothes that I have gotten over the last few months that either didn't fit, or that I just didn't like. At least I have money in my paypal account now to buy more stuff when I find what I like. I've had my eye on a Vera Bradley purse for a while now, I just really can't spend $50+ on a purse, just not my style, so I'll find a used one that I like eventually. I love the picadilly plum and sherbert patterns, and the turquoise and brown pattern that they have. My cousins have TONS of Vera Bradley, it is so pretty!

Dilyn has a baseball game tonight. We are going to try and go...

And yesterday I did get to hear the heartbeat. It was 139 bpm. I know that is in the 'boy' range, but I also know that it isn't 100% regardless. We will see. I have been thinking GIRL this whole time, but now I'm really not sure. I guess we will see tomorrow!!!

Great Day

Today has been going pretty good, for the most part. I got my yearly review back, and exceeded all of my elements, which means a bonus. Yippie! The bonus isn't huge like it was when I was working corporate, but it is enough to buy some baby furniture, and maybe a new recliner/glider for the living room. That really made my day!

I'm about to go to the doctor, for my routine checkup. Today they will be getting the blood for all the tests they do to see if the baby is okay. I'm also hoping that I can hear the heartbeat - lots of people have told me that they heard the heartbeat every time.

I have been reading like crazy lately. I have read 7 books since I moved into my house 2 months ago. I have started to get back into it like I was right after college. After college, I was so excited that I could read whatever I wanted that I was checking different books out all the time, but then the excitement died down, but now it is back.

We find out what the baby is on WEDNESDAY! I can't wait. I'm so excited, not only to see the baby, but to be able to start planning the room, picking out a name, and just getting more prepared. I'm so excited!!!
