I had my ultrasound done, June 23rd, and I was 10w5d - and had ONE healthy little boy/girl. The doctor surprised me and switched to 3D/4D for the ultrasound, and it was just amazing how much I could see of the baby (and he/she was only about 2 inches long)! Arms, Legs, Fingers, Eye sockets, etc. So amazing. God has truly blessed us. Can't wait until August when we find out if 'she' is really a 'she' like I'm thinking!

Wrong
Just wrong.
Yesterday was the day for my first ultrasound. I had been counting down for weeks. Then the doctor’s office called, and the a/c was broken in the office, so they had to reschedule. Sadness. My ultrasound is now scheduled for next Wednesday. Only a week, I know, but I was so excited. So I wait.
In the meantime, I thought I would share this…this was when I ‘met’ Peyton for the first time… I was going to show the first ultrasound picture, but apparently I don't have those digitally - so that is on my todo list - to get them out of his 'baby box' and scan them. I thought that I had before, but I can't find them at the moment. So these pictures were taken the very first time I held Peyton...

Wow, what a week
This last week has been a blur, and I honestly don't know how on earth I made it. I've been sick, fighting bronchitis, and tired, from the baby, and then on top of all that, we had VBS at church this week, and I was teaching the Kindergarten class. Um, tired isn't the word. I've been so completely exhausted, I've barely made it out of bed for more than a few hours all weekend. But that is ok. I'm feeling better at the moment so hopefully this week will be a good one.
Maybe I can even fit in a bit of scrapbooking at some point next week. I need that!!!
And I need to make some lists of the millions of things in my head! The million things that I haven't had time or energy (well mostly energy) to do. My house looks like a wreck, we did do family clean up time on Saturday and that helped, but um, with the 3 year old, the living room already looks as bad as it did yesterday. Yeah! How can a kid make a worse mess in 3 hrs than he did in approximately 2 full weeks????? He is going to have to learn to start playing in the playroom.
Eric passed all his classes this quarter. One more day of school then he is off for almost 3 weeks. That is going to be a nice 3 weeks for us all!!! Does this mean I have to start cooking again?
My garden needs to be harvested so bad. I hope this last week hasn't killed/destroyed the garden. I have to get out there. Like, NOW!
Our pool is hot!!! It feels like a sauna. It wasn't supposed to be this way. Didn't expect that. Hello, pool = refreshing right???? I think it might have too much salt in it. Sigh.
Oh, and Don't let me forget that i need to pay the bills.
Glad VBS is over. Sad that I don't have a week to play catch up before real life starts all over again.
Here's to the last few hours of the weekend! I'm gonna go float around in my pool hot tub!!!

Two weeks
As of yesterday it has been 4 wks since I found out I was pregnant!!! In some ways it has flown by, and in others it has crept ( like when I feel sick). Kinda hope the next 32 or so weeks go fast , but I want to cherish this as much as possible because I'm pretty sure this could be the last baby we have!

Dreaming of Baby Room's Already
I think one of the best parts of expecting a baby, is dreaming/planning the baby's room. Below is a picture of Peyton's room.
And here are a few layouts combinations of the room I'm envisioning for the baby.
And I think this layout below is probably going to be the winner. I really want to try to fit a twin bed and baby bed in the room, so I might forgo the changing table/dresser and use the built in desk for that. (my scrapbooking built in desk, oh it is going to be so sad not having my scrapbook area!!!)
Used an online tool for this, so you can't really tell what is what, and this isn't what my furniture looks like, but you get the general idea. :)
Oh, just can't wait to find out if it is a boy or a girl so I can REALLY start looking and planning.
So Sick
First real doctors appointment is tomorrow, and I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat!!!!!

Family Tragedy
I always hate writing about certain things, because I never have the right words to describe how I'm feeling, or the intensity of the situation. Last Sunday night, May 23rd, I got a phone call as soon as I left church - my Brother-in-law Delon had passed away.
Eric was at the hospital with his sister and parents. Delon had taken a nap that afternoon, and never woke up, and Heather had gone to check on him around 6pm and called 911. The paramedics did the best they could, but he had already stopped breathing before they got to the house. He had taken some medication, and that plus his ulcers and alcohol had been too much for his body to handle, and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
To say that they are devastated is an understatement. Heather is only 27, much too young to be a widow. She doesn't know life without him. They were married at 16, and really grew up together. And they have two boys, 11 and 3, and they had been married for about 11 1/2 years. This was very hard on the whole family. The funeral was Friday in Florida.
I know that at this point, it is just the beginning. That it is going to take months and years for her to get over this, and for the boys to come to terms with losing their Dad at such a young age. Heather didn't go back to the house except to grab a few things until today. I think she is still very numb to what has happened, and her emotions come and go like a freight train. Her world was completely changed, and it all happened so fast.
It makes you cherish the people you love even more. Cherish the time we have together, and to not take it for granted, because you never know when that time will come for it to be your time, or someone you love's time to go. Knowing that my family is saved makes this much easier, but in Delon's case we just aren't sure. We hope and pray that he had believed and said a prayer at some point in his life, but he was pretty open about not being a Christian. And that makes it harder. We hope that his pride got in the way, and that he had realized he needed Jesus at some point before last weekend. Not knowing makes it harder though.

Fun Saturday
Saturdays around here have really changed since Eric got a full time job a few months ago and is continuing with his EMT degree. He works M-F and so he only has Saturday's to schedule his ambulance rides and his rotations in the ER. So I'm waiting on him to get home now!! I have dinner ready and waiting (only the 2nd time I've cooked this week b/c i have been too exhausted after work). And I have a roast ready to go in the crock pot in the morning for our meal after church.
So what is our typical Saturday like?
Well today we slept in, until about 8:30, then ate breakfast. Usually I like to go garage sailing...but wasn't in the mood today. Then we cleaned the kitchen and living room, made lunch, ate lunch, went outside to put more chemicals in the pool (more on that in a minute), took a shower, took a 'rest' (an hour or so of nap for me and movie for Peyton with his blanket on the couch), grocery store and movie store run, took dinner to a close friend at church who lost her MIL last week, came home, cooked dinner, finished up bible study from the week (was 2 days behind, had to catch up), cooked dinner, and now we are waiting on Daddy to get home so we can eat dinner and watch Avatar.
I'm so proud of Eric though, for continuing with his schooling, even though he is exhausted and never gets much of a break at all. I keep telling him, just one more semester, just one more!!!
Oh, I hear the garage door now. Will tell about the pool woes next post.

Feeling Ok
Well, this week so far hasn’t been too bad.
Which started to scare me at first b/c I felt so bad last week. Then I started thinking about those 2 days – I had to stop my daily migraine medicine cold turkey, stopped drinking caffeine, plus I probably had some nerves going on too – so combine those 3, plus that spicy shrimp and no wonder I felt bad for a few days. So I’m not going to worry too much about not feeling bad.
I go to my first prenatal appt next Tuesday. Hope to hear the heart beat! Might be too early, but I can’t wait to hear it…
So far, my gut is telling me this is another boy…but I guess we will see come August.
